This project, located in the Texas Hill Country west of Austin utilizes steel weld embed plates for second floor wall support.
This home features an interior ICF wall to support a portion of the second floor wall system. With the exception of radius walls and arches, this home exemplifies the many design elements and versatility available with ICF construction in complicated house designs.
Interior framing proceed while the ICF construction of the garage began simultaneously. The interior framing provides a second floor deck from which to work during the installation of the ICF wall system.
Items of note are the wall heights varying from 10 feet to 18 feet for the first floor and the steel colums that will support second floor walls over open spaces below. The use of natural light is evident by the number, size and placement of windows. The first week yielded near completion of the exterior wall ICF work including the proper technique for their bracing.
