Faced with the unique challenge of retrofitting an existing building with a reinforced concrete arms room, the general contractor for this project approached us after seeing one of our other jobs. This proved to be a great application for insulated concrete forms, but not without special challenges. The rebar prescription was very strict, and special accomodations were made to install double the normal amount of rebar normally used for walls of this type. Concrete had to be placed using a trailer-mounted pump instead of the normal boom pump.
